Occupational Therapist

The closing date is 06 August 2025

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Navigo Allied Health Professionals (AHP) Team who are dedicated to service users experiencing difficulties with their mental health.

Our core AHP team currently includes staff members from Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. Our work spans over acute and community settings supporting people over the age of 18 with a variety of support needs. We also have AHPs working across other specialist areas of the organisation, including a Speech and Language Therapist and Dieticians.

Please note; the expected start date for this position is 03/11/2025

Main duties of the job

We use a variety of approaches to enable service users to improve their independence, safety and quality of life. We visit people in their own homes to provide practical and educational support, and teach compensatory strategies to enable them to do what they need, want and like to do. On Navigo's acute inpatient units, we provide assessment and intervention to promote independence and safety during admission, whilst also helping to plan their discharge back into the community. We create plans with people to support them to achieve their goals, which could be to attend a regular social group or being able to live independently. We facilitate groups for people with Mild Cognitive Impairments and Dementia which are recommended by NICE Guidance. The successful applicant may work within any of these areas as a qualified Occupational Therapist. They will hold their own caseload and be expected to manage this autonomously.
