Job summary

Day services promotes, supports and improves the mental, physical and emotional well-being of vulnerable people, in order that they can participate in their communities and with their families, and enjoy the best life possible. The aim of the service is to support vulnerable people to remain living in their own homes. An effective Day Service should aim to ensure that this group can participate in and help steer the services required, considering their specific needs. Day Services should also enable service users to make informed decisions and to facilitate access to services across the health, social and voluntary sectors.

Main duties of the job

Job title: Support Worker

Base: Day Services, Cromwell Road

18.75 hours, Monday Tuesday and Friday mornings

Salary Range 2 £20,702 (under 23) - £21,190 (over 23) pro rata per annum fixed salary point.

You will work as part of a team and, under direction and supervision will provide a range of support / personal care to meet the needs of vulnerable people living within the community.

You will assist service users to access a range of opportunities in mainstream community and leisure facilities that will support and enable service users to lead meaningful, purposeful lives of their choice.

You will contribute to supporting the Service Users in areas of daily living skills whilst enabling and maintaining individuals existing skills; health and well-being.

You will have a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience and will have Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 skills or equivalent level of competence.
