Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated senior business intelligence developer join our innovative and busy business intelligence team.
Using microsoft development tools, you will lead on the development and maintenance of our BI infrastructure.You will be the technical BI lead / subject matter expert (SME) for planning, development, and introduction of new data flows from IT systems from a data/information reporting perspective.
We are looking to appoint a pro-active and dynamic individual with the confidence to engage with others across all levels of the organisation and wider health economy.
Main duties of the job
Working within the business intelligence (BI) team, the senior business intelligence developer is responsible for:
- Managing BI technical development projects, ensuring they are delivered within agreed timescales and scope.
- Developing and implementing the BI strategy in respect of efficient storage and processing of data. Using technical and managerial skills to continually improve the existing estate where possible, particularly to seek improvements in efficiency, reliability and security of data and processes.
- Technical BI lead / subject matter expert (SME) for planning, development, and introduction of new data flows from IT systems from a data/information reporting perspective. Ensuring data structures and BI business continuity processes are robust and adequately support the BI analytical function and service it provides to the rest of the business.
- Leading development of technical solutions such as data warehousing, report and dashboard production, and other data toolsets including ETL via SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), data modelling via SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and report queries via SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Service management of BI infrastructure and report library, including capacity management and change control. Responsible for monitoring of daily ETL processes and point of escalation for technical queries.
