Job summary
As a student School Nurse you will be highly motivated
about promoting the physical and emotional health of school age children, their
families and school communities, in order that each child is able to optimise
their full health potential. You will have a keen interest in developing skills
that will support you to become an autonomous practitioner, delivering evidence-based
interventions that are culturally appropriate, promote positive choices and
focus on the holistic needs of children. You will understand the wider determinants
of health and be committed to addressing health inequalities.
The programme involves taught modules at a London
University and a clinical placement within Your Healthcare. The combination of
clinical and academic content will enable you to develop knowledge, clinical
and leadership skills to support high quality practice. You will focus on
public health outcomes through the delivery of evidence-based interventions
which will involve community and whole school approaches, working with groups
and with individuals.
Main duties of the job
This is a fixed term post from
September 2025 for one year. The usual working hours are weekdays from 9 to 5.
You
will be mostly based at Hollyfield house in Surbiton and will also need to
travel to schools and other sites as needed.
A full UK driving license with access to a vehicle or
access to a bicycle with storage facilities that could transport bulky
equipment, is essential. A car/ bike loan scheme is available.

You will attend University and engage
with the learning opportunities available so that you develop the theoretical
