Main duties of the job

The opportunity to assess and rehabilitate both acute and persistent pathologies from both primary and secondary care, developing excellent clinical reasoning skills in MSK physio and rehabilitation.

Become involved in the process of self-referral triage, and single point of access/referral triage.

Support, supervise and help educate more junior staff, physio students and exercise therapistst

We work in partnership with our staff, patients and commissioners to develop a continually improving range of services to meet their needs effectively and efficiently.

Set up as a social enterprise over 10 years ago, we provide MSK physio services from multiple sites across Suffolk, from community hospitals, health centres, gyms, and GP surgeries. We have developed and run a successful web based self-referral platform and single point of referral for secondary care commissioned through-out East Anglia, and offer virtual and face to face clinical appointments, exercise classes and 121 rehab.

Job responsibilities

  • To assess and treat patients with a wide range of conditions, who may have complex and/or chronic presentation, to determine clinical diagnosis and plan, develop, implement and evaluate physiotherapy programmes and management plans.

  • To provide Physiotherapy Assessment and treatment in Clinics, Health Centres, GP surgeries and community hospitals, including First Point of Contact services as appropriate.
  • To work and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner
  • To provide specialist Therapeutic input into planning, development and evaluation of clinical services, with responsibility for defined projects.
  • To provide clinical and supervisory leadership to junior staff and students within the team, including case load allocation, appraisal and managerial supervision.
  • To coach and develop all members of the team using recognised management and training tools and techniques, including the AHP Learning Knowledge and Skills Framework and Personal Development Reviews, to achieve corporate and team objectives.
