Are you looking for a new challenge? An exciting opportunity has arisen to start as a Trainee Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response Officer with Sirona care & health. We are seeking to recruit a proactive, innovative, and effective individual to join our EPRR team.

An apprenticeship with Sirona care & health could be your first step towards a rewarding career. Your training will be based on an improvement practitioner apprenticeship and the RSPH Diploma in Health Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response.

You will be mainly be working within our EPRR team and will benefit from a variety of placements in our project management office, communications team and learning and development department.

Having the right attitude, work ethic and commitment to your education as well as your employment are essential requirements to this role.

This role is available across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Main duties of the job

The Trainee EPRR Officer will be supported and developed to work with the EPRR team within Sirona. The work focuses around the EPRR workplan which helps Sirona deliver on the NHS England EPRR framework. The work includes working with formal documentation such as policies, plans and procedures ensuring that they are maintained up to date.

Supporting the operation of an Incident Control Centre in the event of a declared incident, and meetings across the organisation at senior levels, ensuring that minutes and actions are correctly recorded, stored and followed up is a key part of the job.

You will be engaging with staff across Sirona, and possibly other health and social care system partners, under the direction of the EPRR team, promoting the importance of preparedness and resilience and how it integrates into normal daily practice. Part of this will be supporting clinical and corporate teams in developing their own business continuity plans in line with international standards and NHS requirements.

You will be working closely with the Senior EPRR Officer, supporting with the planning and delivery of EPRR training and exercises. The role involves handling officially marked documentation, the monitoring of EPRR related communication channels, analysis of content and appropriate escalation and/or cascading of messages in a timely manner.

  • Trained as an ambulance Emergency Care Assistant, Emergency Medical Dispatcher (or equivalent) and/or Level 3 qualification (such as NVQ) in Business Administration, or suitable alternative
  • GCSE qualifications in English and Maths grades A-C or equivalent

Desirable

  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification
  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or similar qualification
  • Training qualification
  • Operational incident command training
  • Loggist training

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; ability to communicate complex information to staff at all levels
  • Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation, as well as with external partners
