Community Paediatric Clinic Assistant Lead

The closing date is 25 February 2026

Job summary

Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and families and ready to step into a leadership role? We're looking for a motivated and compassionate Lead Clinic Assistant to join our Community Paediatrics service across BNSSG.

In this role, you'll lead and develop our Community Clinic Assistant team, working alongside Community Paediatricians and Specialist Neurodevelopment Nurses to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care focused on prevention, early intervention, and family-centred support.

You'll work across Children's Centres, Special Schools, and community settings, providing clinical leadership, supervision, and support to your team while ensuring services are safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.

You'll also play a key role in delivering Sirona's Community Paediatrics vision, supporting service transformation within the THRIVE framework, and building strong partnerships with schools, GPs, and local communities to improve outcomes for children and young people.

If you enjoy leading others, working collaboratively, and making a real difference in children's lives, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

  • Motivate and support the Clinic Assistant team to deliver Sirona's vision for Community Paediatrics.
  • Maintain oversight of the quality of Clinic Assistant services across localities, including Special Schools, Observation Clinics, Specialist and Complex Clinics. Work closely with the Specialist Neurodevelopmental Nurse Lead to embed quality improvement where needed.

  • Ensure team members are empowered to contribute to service development and that their voices are represented in decision-making.

  • Provide inspiring, compassionate, and innovative leadership that supports the delivery of a high-quality, child-centred service, responsive to the needs of children, families, carers, and communities.

  • Deliver high-quality line management, including recruitment, selection, induction, and ongoing development of team members.

  • Manage team rotas, shift patterns, and deployment across service locations.

  • Monitor and support staff wellbeing, including managing sickness and absence appropriately.
