Job summary
Sirona care & health is working to deliver the National Patient Safety Strategy which looks at building on the foundations of our culture of safety and ensuring the systems we have in place are working effectively to keep patients safe.
Patient Safety Partners make a vital contribution to meeting this challenge by becoming an integral advisory member of our meetings and our teams, assessing the quality and safety of our services. It is vital that the people we serve are involved in decisions to ensure our services are safe and of a high quality, and the Patient Safety Partner role is key to ensuring that we are working together on this.
In addition theirrole is to support the design of safer healthcare at all levels in the organisation. The PSP will be involved in key projects related to patient safety.
Theywill reflect the voice and needs of the people that use our community-based health services. Contributing their unique perspective of how patient safety issues can impact service users, they will help us to improve safety and develop safer services in partnership with patients, families and carers.
Main duties of the job
These voluntary rolesrequire attendance at one meeting every month and other activity between meetings.The role attracts an involvement payment at meetings and reimbursement for reasonable expenses and are for 18 month fixed periods.
The main role of the patient safety partner is to ensure that the patient voice is heard within Sirona care & health, with the core purpose of improving safety and quality.
Candidates will need to have a genuine commitment to developing excellent health services along with an understanding of and broad interest in patient safety.As an advocate of patient safety,there is a requirement that candidates will have the confidence to communicate well verbally with senior leaders over strategic issues and provide a patient carer or lay perspective. They will be expected to apply their skills, knowledge, and experience to support decision making that will drive forward Sirona care & health's ambition are at the centre of shaping our safety agenda.
