Job summary
A rare opportunity has come up within the Specialist Community Neurology Team for a Senior Occupational Therapist.
As a team, we see people who have a neurological condition in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) who need seeing either in their home environment, via digital assessment or in a clinic setting.
We are a team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, MS nurses, Therapy Assistants and our Admin team. We are very closely aligned with our Adult Speech and Language Therapy service. The role involves working both autonomously and together with other members of the MDT.

Main duties of the job
- To manage a caseload of neurological patients. To assess and subsequently provide evidence based treatment plans.
- To be able to assess a variety of neurological conditions and presentations. To be able to assess for specialist equipment including bespoke seating and in bed sleep systems.
- To have an understanding of the wider neurological pathway and system partners, when and who to refer onto and the best time for this to occur.
- To provide supervision to students, peers and more junior members of the team as required.
- To undertake relevant service development opportunities as they occur, including delivering relevant educational sessions, audits and research.
