The chance has arisen for your to join our Adult Learning Disability Health Service (ALDHS) based in Bristol, North Somerset and/ or South Gloucestershire. We are seeking a specialist physiotherapist to provide person-centred assessment, rehabilitation and management for people with long-term complex disabilities and learning disabilities including the promotion of health and prevention of secondary complications.
You'll get the chance to work and collaborate with our multi-disciplinary specialist healthcare team with a goal to support and make a meaningful impact to our community. This includes providing specialist, evidence based Physiotherapy assessment and interventions to our service users and their carers/families/support networks.
Posture management and hydrotherapy skills are also highly valued with opportunities to develop these and other learning disability-specific skills. We will offer excellent support with opportunities to work alongside a wide variety of professions and agencies.

Main duties of the job
- Undertake skilled and specialist assessment of service users to formulate individualised management and treatment plans using evidence based clinical reasoning skills and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options including postural management and hydrotherapy.
- Communicate effectively with the wider multidisciplinary team and case manage services users as appropriate.
- Work with service users and their carers towards shared goals providing advice education and training and assessing for and providing specialist equipment.
- Encourage independence and enable service users and their carers to manage their condition.
- To provide specialist support and advice to other services
- To devise and carry out specific exercise programmes and to assess and prescribe 24-hour postural management programmes.
