Job summary
The Sirona Speech and Language Therapy School Aged Team is a friendly and supportive team that deliver a variety of core and commissioned clinical Speech and Language Therapy Services across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
We offer regular training opportunities to our staff, a buddy system for new starters, regular line management, whole team and smaller team meetings. A large and supportive team means that there is plenty of opportunity for development and progression internally.
The service offers enhanced input to schools through a Commissioned service which is designed to complement the core NHS offer to schools.
This post is to work within a range of schools, including special schools/resource bases and mainstream schools to deliver speech and language therapy to a children with a range of developmental needs, as well as supporting school staff with speech and language therapy advice.
We are able to offer successful candidates the opportunity to work across teams and localities dependent on clinical interest and skillset.
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, if you are an internal candidate this will be a secondment

Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the commissioned services team, working across a range of different settings, offering an enhanced Speech and Language Therapy provision that is above the core NHS offer.
You will support the students and staff through universal, targeted and specialist services, for those children whose needs sit outside the core NHS service. The post holder should have interest and experience in supporting children/YP in both primary and secondary schools. Experience working in a special school or resource base, as well as mainstream schools is also desirable.
You will be part of and benefit from the support of the wider SLT team, with support and supervision from a highly specialist speech and language therapist.
