Assistant Clinical Psychologist

The closing date is 28 October 2025

Job summary

Interviews for this role will be held on 11th November 2025.

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and families? We're excited to be recruiting two Assistant Clinical Psychologists to join our friendly and supportive team.

We have two part-time opportunities available -- apply for one or both:

Child Autism Assessment Service (15 hours / 2 days per week)Work alongside our small, dedicated psychology team to support autism assessments. You'll carry out cognitive assessments and help families navigate their diagnostic journey with empathy and professionalism.

Family Nurse Partnership (22.5 hours / 3 days per week)Join a passionate multi-disciplinary team supporting young parents. In this role, you'll take the lead as our Young Fathers' Worker, helping young dads build confidence and strong family relationships -- with supervision from a Clinical Psychologist.

If you're interested in both, these roles can be combined into a full-time post (37.5 hours per week).

At the heart of our service are our values of compassion, inclusion, and psychological safety. Our Heads of Psychology are committed to creating a nurturing environment where every team member feels valued, supported, and encouraged to grow.

Main duties of the job

The Assistant Clinical Psychologist role in the child autism assessment service involves undertaking cognitive assessments, case file reviews and other clinical support roles as appropriate to level and banding - including clinical pathway administration and planning. This a great opportunity to learn about child development, cognitive assessment and neurodivergence.

The Assistant Clinical Psychologist role in the Family Nurse Partnership service involves acting as the young fathers' worker, which is a new role currently being piloted and evaluated. This involves holding a caseload (under supervision) and engaging vulnerable at-risk teenage fathers, using an outreach engagement model. The role will include supporting new dads to adjust to their role as a young father, and also helping us to evaluate this pilot. The post-holder will need to be confident working with known safeguarding concerns. This is a great opportunity to learn about parent-child interaction and support for families and parents with high social and emotional complexity.
