Clinical & Operational Lead

Job summary

Your primary purpose will be to support the Sirona BNSSG Specialist Services Manager in leading the BNSSG Neurology Services; working with senior clinicians in the planning, provision, improvement and development of a range of services. You will support and coordinate a number of projects that will contribute to the achievement of service objectives and wider organisational goals.

Your role will be key to maintaining and, where possible, improving the performance of the services and the resultant impact on the organisation as a whole. You will be required to lead by example to gain the best from services and staff, ensuring they are supported to remain engaged, positively challenged and effective.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to provide inspiring and innovative leadership that supports the implementation and development of high quality integrated person-centred care which respects and responds to the needs of service users and carers.

The role will require the post-holder to support the Specialist Services Manager to provide overall strategic management, business planning and development of the Specialist Services, in conjunction with the Specialist Services Associate Director.

The role will ensure the delivery of KPIs within the relevant service specifications for the BNSSG Adult Community Services contract and any external contracts associated with the service..

Integral to the role is representing Sirona by working in partnership with other BNSSG providers. There is a requirement to attend a number of system wide meetings and the occasional requirement to deputise for the Specialist Services Manager and the Associate Director for Specialist Services.

You will be responsible to the Specialist Services Manager for the planning and delivery of high quality, safe and cost effective provision of services provided by the Neurology Teams

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Previous experience working in a relevant specialist service setting and/or other relevant multi- disciplinary environment, of a similar size and complexity.
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the transformation agenda and the legislative, regulatory and performance management framework for health and social care.
  • Evidence of ability to resolve complex issues within service, including with staff implications using sound logic and taking into consideration relevant business implications.
  • Specialist knowledge of the relevant Specialist pathway and services and demonstrable good understanding of several related disciplines
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in healthcare, including how it informs leadership and service delivery

Desirable

  • Involvement in strategic decision making and partnership working
  • Experience of working at National or regional area on steering groups

Qualifications and training

Essential

  • Professional qualification in Health Care and current registration.
  • Operational management experience including experience of managing and developing multi-disciplinary or integrated pathway teams in a variety of locations.

Desirable

  • Recognised post graduate management / leadership qualification, working towards one or willingness to undertake.
