Come
and join us in the Bristol area! We are
a friendly team of approximately 100 clinical staff delivering a wide range of
Speech & Language Therapy services in Bristol and the surrounding areas of
North Somerset & South Gloucestershire.
We have various Band 5 and Band 6 opportunities as follows;
We have fixed term and permanent roles (Band 5 & 6) in our School
Link service and early years community team.
We
also have permanent roles (Band 6) in our complex needs team.
Part time hours will be considered (minimum contract 18.75
hours per week).Please do contact us for further
information.
We
are organised into Early years and School age teams each meeting regularly on
a monthly basis. We have plans for a range of training during 2024 including
Word Aware, Core Boards and also SCERTs for relevant staff. Staff receive
support in terms of regular 1:1s with their Line manager ( monthly or 6 weekly,
depending on staff preference). We also
have new plans for additional clinical supervision sessions in 2024.
Main duties of the job
Early years initial assessment
and intervention sessions in locality clinic settings
School link initial assessment,
delivery of some EHCP provision sessions & other intervention in schools; liaison
and advice to schools
Early Years complex needs
initial assessment ( including eating and drinking, Participation in multi
professional assessment, Intervention sessions at home / in a local child
development centre
Special Schools initial /
review assessment, delivery of some EHCP provision sessions & other
intervention in schools, liaison and advice to schools, some staff training

- Band 6 - To be able to select and carry out appropriate assessment and in-depth observation combined with appropriate discussions / liaison to form a differential diagnosis
- Band 6 - To be able to assess and provide intervention for more complex cases in area of speciality, with clinical support from more senior clinicians
