Are you a
compassionate, enthusiastic, and dynamic Specialist Community Public Health
Nurse (SCPHN School Nurse) who is looking for a new challenge? We are looking
for new Senior School Nurses to join our teams and work in partnership with
professionals to promote the health and wellbeing of children, young people and
families. As a Senior School Nurse, in line with iThrive, you will promote
physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing by empowering those we care
for with the resources they need to make the best choices for them, throughout
their life. You will also be thoroughly involved with the leadership of the
School Nursing workforce by sharing your knowledge and expertise with the wider
team, including trainee nurse associates, undergraduate nurses and SCPHN
students.

Main duties of the job
Your main duties will be;
To demonstrate
passion and enthusiasm for maintaining the health of school aged children
whilst adhering to the NMC code.
To maintain
an up-to-date knowledge base of key pieces of literature which impact upon the
health of school aged children and school nursing practice.
To lead
members of the School Nursing workforce compassionately by providing regular
caseload reviews and appraisals as necessary.
To develop
and lead on school and community public health initiatives to promote health
and accessibility of the service.
To form
effective, working relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team.

- Demonstrate a thorough general knowledge of the public health agenda, and an understanding of how this relates to children, young people families and communities.
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritise workload and work as part of a skill mix team
- Evidence the ability to work well as part of a multi professional team
- Demonstrate linking theory to practice.
- Relevant experience of working with children and families.
- Experience and understanding of Safeguarding Children and Adults which may also include Child Protection
- Demonstrate Leadership skills in promoting the Health Visiting service/Public Health role with other professionals and agencies
- Confident in the use of technology to fulfil aspects of role such as Electronic Patient Records (EMIS), MS teams, Microsoft packages- word/excel/outlook
Desirable
- Familiar with group facilitation either with parents, students, or colleagues
- Familiar with Chat Health
Qualifications

- Registered nurse; mental health nurse, learning disability nurse, adult nurse, childrens nurse or midwife.
- Specialist Community Public Health Degree or PGDip and registration (or working towards).
- Current NMC registration.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes

- Evidence of successful study at post graduate level
- Recognised teaching, assessing or supervising of students qualification/study
- Leadership and Management courses/experience
