Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist IV Team in a development post. Sirona Care & Health is passionate about ensuring every individual receives the right care in the most appropriate setting for their individual needs. We are looking for a clinician, with an interest in IV therapy who wants to develop, to join our existing team to deliver both planned and unplanned care. The Specialist IV Service work collaboratively with colleagues from the NHS@Home Service, alongside UHBW and NBT NHS Trusts. The service primarily delivers Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) to patients in a range of settings including an ambulatory care unit as well as patients own homes, whilst also supporting colleagues with knowledge, advice, and guidance through a variety of training platforms.

This is an exciting time to join Sirona, with increasing emphasis on reducing hospital admissions whilst keeping patients safe in their own homes, the development of the new NHS@Home service allows us to support this through a number of different pathways. As the NHS@Home service develops the scope of IV therapies is expected to increase, to include fluids, diuretics and other medications.

The development plan should take approx 12-18 months. You will be allocated a clinical mentor who will provide advice and support. An example development plan can be found in "Supporting Documents", this plan will be individualised and further development areas may be identified.
