Due to changes within our services, we are looking for a motivated, compassionate and ambitious, Healthcare support worker who has a genuine interest in working with elderly patients. You will provide our patients with the best experience and treatment possible.

This is an exciting opportunity to join us in our 8 bedded physical rehabilitation unit where you will work as part of a well-integrated team supporting patients with their rehabilitation post discharge from the acute hospitals in the region

You will work as part of our multidisciplinary team, all working together, to deliver individualised nursing and rehabilitation care to patients with the common goal of delivering the best outcomes possible for our patients so that they can increase their independence

This post will initially be to work predominantly night shifts but there is an expectation that internal rotation will be required. So you will be expected to be flexible and able to work a shift pattern over a range of predominantly night shifts but early, late or long day shifts across a 7 day period, inclusive of weekends and bank holidays

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare assistant you will be required to undertake tasks with minimum supervision but with advice from more experienced team colleagues should you need it.You will deliver clinical care and therapy treatment plans delegated by the senior healthcare professional, in accordance with the agreed person-centred plan of care.

Routine tasks will involve:

  • Assist service users to meet their daily care needs
  • Completion of charts
  • Recording in patients notes
  • Carry out simple dressings following assessment of skin and wounds/pressure care
  • Report any changes in the patients condition to more senior members of staff
  • Collection specimens of urine, sputum and faeces as requested
  • Participate in clinical supervision and team learning and development
