Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Visitor or School Nurse to work within the Safeguarding Childrens Team as a Specialist Nurse for Looked after Children.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and monitoring the delivery and the heath care for children and young people who are looked after within the FCHC area.

You will work both directly and indirectly with looked after children and young people to implement and monitor personal health plans in order to improve health outcomes.

You will provide leadership and expertise for colleagues working in FCHC, CFHS, Commissioning, Social Services and for foster carers, residential workers as well as children and young people in care.

You will be part of a dedicated team that is highly motivated to ensure that safe and effective services for safeguarding children remains a priority for all staff working in First Community Health & Care.

You will be well supported to further your professional knowledge and skills in this highly specialised area and given the opportunity to conduct supervision sessions and training.

Main duties of the job

Multi-agency and professional working is essential to this role, so you will need to possess excellent communication skills, be self- motivated, work as an autonomous practitioner, and have a keen desire to improve the outcomes for looked after children and their families.

Applicants will need to have at least 3 years post registration experience, and be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the field of safeguarding children.
