Join First Dietitians at First Community Health and Careand play a key role in shaping high quality, patient centred nutritional care across East Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate dietitian to step into a specialist position that blends clinical expertise with strategic prescribing support.
In this role, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team working in close partnership with the East Surrey Medicines Optimisation Team (MOT). Together, you will help ensure that patients receive safe, effective, and appropriate nutritional products, improving health outcomes and supporting best practice across GP surgeries, care homes, and the community.
You will bring your specialist dietetic skills into a variety of settings, from one to one patient assessments to group training sessions, all while managing your own complex workload with the backing of the wider First Dietitians team. This is also a fantastic opportunity to take a lead in the implementation of the ICB Oral Nutritional Supplement (ONS) strategy, contributing directly to improved nutrition, hydration, and wellbeing across the region.

This role is part time for 22.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive Prescribing Support Dietitian to join our communitybased team. You will provide specialist dietetic input to ensure safe, effective and evidencebased nutritional care across the local population.
You will assess patients with diverse nutritional needs, develop tailored care plans and review prescribed nutritional products to ensure appropriate, costeffective support. A key focus is championing Food First approaches and advising on the safe use of oral nutritional supplements.
Working with the Medicines Optimisation Team, you will use prescribing and nutritional data to identify priorities, support improvement work and contribute to projects such as infant formula, thickeners and glutenfree prescribing. You will also help develop pathways, guidelines and resources, particularly for care homes.
You will collaborate with GP practices, care homes and multidisciplinary teams, providing training, advice and educational materials to strengthen nutritional care. The role includes delivering a community prescribing support service through virtual reviews, home visits and clinics, ensuring patients receive appropriate interventions.
You will be involved in audits, quality improvement and maintaining high clinical standards, while also supporting student dietitian development and engaging in ongoing CPD.
