Lead for High Risk Podiatry Care

Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic HCPC registered Podiatrist to work within the field of Diabetes and High Risk footcare, at a Band 7 level. Full-time is preferred, but part-time would be considered.

You will be an active member of the Surrey and Sussex Multidisciplinary Footcare Team (MDFT) and provide leadership on the organisational and development of the outpatient element of the service. You will be guided by comprehensive policies and a supportive team, to assess, diagnose, develop and implement individual programmes of care for patients. Our patients present with a wide range of clinical needs, including acute and chronic neuropathies, chronic diseases, vascular problems and wound management.

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist footcare for patients with complex high risk foot problems. This includes diabetes patients with acute and chronic foot wounds, patients with neuropathic and vascular complications, patients with foot complications who are immunosuppressed and patients who have poor tissue viability.

The post holder will be clinically responsible for treatment of the high risk caseload working autonomously as well as work as part of the multidisciplinary team.

The post requires accepting urgent referrals from GPs, community podiatrists, and other health professionals and will provide responsive specialist care.

The role will support the education and up-skilling of clinical and care staff working with diabetic care and patient education.

The post will be based in a variety of settings within East Surrey area including hospital and community locations.
