Job summary

Are you an experienced HR professional who is highly organised, motivated, enthusiastic and has experience of working within a HR management or senior HR advisory position? If so, this could be the role for you.

We are looking for a HR professional with excellent influencing and communication skills to join our small and friendly team on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

In this vital role, you will work alongside the management teams on a day-to-day basis providing highly specialised HR advice to all groups of staff across a range of issues to include performance and absence management, employee relations, change management, grievance and disciplinary matters.

You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, professional and efficient people service to the organisation, focusing on giving specialist HR advice and guidance in relation to complex employee relations cases, you will manage relationships with external providers, oversee and contribute to the development and review of policies and ensure all people services are working in line with the required KPIs and best practice.

Main duties of the job

You will support the Deputy Head of People on the delivery of workforce plans, Health and Wellbeing, Inclusion, people management training and on various HR projects and initiatives, to enable the organisation to deliver its People Plan and strategic business objectives.

Ideally you will also have knowledge and experience of analysing and reporting on workforce data to support the organisation internally and externally with data submissions.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A CIPD qualification to Post Graduate Diploma Level or equivalent
  • Extensive experience of working within a senior HR position
  • Experience of managing staff within a HR function
  • Significant experience of providing HR advice and guidance to managers/staff on general people and/or employee relations issues of a highly complex/sensitive nature
  • Experience of drafting policies/procedures
  • Experience of producing reports
  • Experience of managing organisational change
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of employment law
  • Significant experience in advising, supporting and coaching managers
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with managers and staff
  • Be at ease working in a busy and demanding environment and also working remotely
  • Have the ability to use own initiative, work independently as required and to tight deadlines.

This is a full-time hybrid role (37.5 hours per week) with a combination of working from home and in the office at least one day a week.
