Job summary
Following a retendering process, the
children's service is due to be transferred to the new provider on the 1st of
April 2025. Given this post sits within the transferring service, in line with
the legislative requirements, the successful candidate will be part of the TUPE
transfer along with other colleagues.
An opportunity has arisen for a
qualified (Children's, Learning Disability or Adult) Nurse to join our
innovative team within this exciting role. This post is based at Pond Meadow
School, Guildford GU1 1DR for pupils aged 2-19 years who have severe learning
disability with additional health needs and is part of Specialist School
Nursing Service Surrey. Our
Nursing Service supports children and young people to be able to safely attend
school irrespective of their health needs.
We ask that the ideal candidate has experience of working with children
with special needs and a passion to make a difference in helping to achieve
better health outcomes.

Main duties of the job
Responding to medical emergencies
Training educational staff in nursing
procedures including gastrostomy and seizure management
Overseeing medication management
Contributing and attending within
multi agency including safeguarding meetings
Care planning
Delivery of Nurse led clinics
Supporting families and being
advocate for child/ young person.
Participation in clinical and
safeguarding supervision
Participation in auditing
Participation EHCP meetings
