Job summary
Following a retendering process, the children's service is due to be transferred to the new provider on the 1st of April 2025. Given this post sits within the transferring service, in line with the legislative requirements, the successful candidate will be part of the TUPE transfer along with other colleagues.
The Ridgeway School is a Special School for children and
Young People aged 2-19 with severe and profound multiple learning difficulties.
Based
within the school, you will be managing a small team of nurses and an Assistant
Practitioner. You will also be part of the wider, County wide Special School
Nursing service.
We
ask that you have a minimum of 3 years post registration clinical experience of
working with children/young people with learning disability and additional
health needs.

Responding to medical
emergencies
Overseeing range of nursing
assessments
Overseeing care planning
Training educational staff in
nursing procedures including gastrostomy and tracheostomy care using evidenced
based competencies
Overseeing medication management
Leading on health-related safeguarding
concerns in partnership with the school and social care
Contributing to EHCP and
multi-agency meetings
Delivering Nurse/Assistant Practitioner
led clinics
Outreach to Learning and
Additional Needs (LAN) schools
