Job summary
Following a retendering process, the children's service is due to be transferred to the new provider on the 1st of April 2025. Given this post sits within the transferring service, in line with the legislative requirements, the successful candidate will be part of the TUPE transfer along with other colleagues.
Band 5 Special School Nurse. Special School Nursing Service Surrey
Would you like to be part of a team which ensures all children and Young People are supported to reach their full potential.
Based in a school for Children and Young People with severe learning disabilities and complex health needs, you will be valued as part of the wider, County wide Special School Nursing service.
We ask that you have a minimum of 1 years post registration clinical experience of working with children/young people with learning disability and additional health needs.
Base: Woodlands School
37.5 hours 5 days a week - Monday to Friday term time only.

Main duties of the job
You will bring your energy and innovation to foster a culture focused on improving health outcomes to children and young people within this setting. Your innovation will enable all 8 teams to work in parallel ensuring best practice is followed.

- Responding to medical emergencies
- Support with training educational staff in nursing procedures including gastrostomy, seizure management and ventilation .
- Medication management
- Attending multi agency meetings
- Care planning
- Report writing
- Nurse led clinics (Downs Syndrome, sleep, desensitisation, early toileting)
- Participation in clinical and safeguarding supervision
- Participation in auditing
- Participation in EHCP meetings
