Band 5 School Nurse Special School Nursing Service,
Manor Mead Special school, Shepperton Surrey TW17 8EL
Hours: 18.75 hours per week Pro Rata term time only. Hours worked over 3
days 08:45 - 15:30.
Due to relocationan opportunity has arisen for a qualified children's, Learning disability or adult nurse to join our innovative team
within this exciting role. This post is based at Manor Mead School for pupils aged 2-11 years who have severe learning disability with additional
health needs and is part of Specialist School Nursing Service Surrey.
You will be part of a small nursing team working in partnership with
education so school staff are supported to enable children and young people to
safely attend school irrespective of their additional health needs. We ask that
the ideal candidate has experience of working with children with special needs
and has a passion for working with children to bring about positive health
outcomes.

Main duties of the job
Please refer to the full Job description for information regarding the key responsibilities of this role that include;
Responding to medical emergencies
Training educational staff in nursing procedures including gastrostomy, seizure managementand ventilation (full training for mechanical ventilation is given supported by our Childrens Continuing Care Team within our specialist community childrens nursing service).
Medication management
Attending multi agency meetings
Care planning
Report writing
Nurse led clinics (Downs Syndrome, sleep, desensitisation, early toileting)
Participation in clinical and safeguarding supervision
Participation in auditing
Participation in EHCP meetings.
