Job summary
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Respiratory Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary Respiratory Care Team across North West Surrey. To succeed in this post you will need experience of managing patients with chronic respiratory disease as a Band 7/6 in a health setting. You will have experience of working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate must have good communication and organisational skills with a flexible approach to meet the ever-changing needs of the service.
As an autonomous practitioner you must be able to undertake a significant specialist clinical case load, taking a leading role in the advanced assessment, clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients with long-term respiratory conditions. These patients may have complex presentations.
Nurses are an integral part of this multi-disciplinary team. We support unplanned admission avoidance where appropriate, provide post discharge support, community clinics, home visits and are involved in Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Ambulatory Oxygen prescription, a home Non-Invasive ventilation service, research and other innovative schemes.
The team strives to ensure evidence based practice and provide an effective high quality service by setting standards and ensuring they are maintained.

· To communicate effectively with all disciplines
involved in a patient’s care both those within the organisation and those
outside to ensure effective multidisciplinary working
· To advise other disciplines both internally and
externally to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care.
· To be able to communicate complex and sensitive information
to patients, carers and other staff including imparting unwelcome news relating
to their rehabilitation/recovery potential
· To be able to communicate highly complex information
sensitively to patients in order to gain cooperation for treatment and valid
consent.
