Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our innovative and friendly multidisciplinary adult team, situated at our London Centre.

Main duties of the job

Our team of experienced clinicians offer a range of specialist therapy interventions, to survivors of torture and organised violence, on an individual and group therapy basis. The interventions equip survivors with the resolve to deal with the physical and psychological impacts of their experiences. Throughout the rehabilitative journey, we closely monitor the impact of interventions as it relates to each survivor using specifically designed Outcome Tools, which in turn assist in ensuring that the survivors ultimately receive the best treatment possible.

About us

Freedom from Torture is dedicated to healing and protecting people who have survived torture. We provide therapies to improve physical and mental health, we medically document torture, and we provide legal and welfare help. We expose torture globally, we fight to hold torturing states to account and we campaign for fairer treatment of torture survivors in the UK.

We campaign for national and global change, using evidence from our services and survivor voices to protect and promote survivors' rights and hold torturing states to account. We are proud to play a significant role in the global anti-torture movement. Survivors, active and empowered, are at the centre of all of our work.
