The closing date is 31 December 2025

Job summary

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Childrens Nurse to join Lagans Foundation as a Nurse Level 3, providing vital care to children and young people with complex health needs across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Lancashire.

This role is a brilliant opportunity for a nurse who wants to make a real difference to families while developing their clinical confidence and early leadership skills. You will work in home and community settings, delivering safe, high-quality care and building trusted relationships with families who rely on our support.

As part of our care team, you will be supported by experienced Area Care Team Leaders and work closely with carers, senior carers, apprentices and fellow nurses. We are a values-led charity that puts children and families at the heart of everything we do.

If you are passionate about providing outstanding community care, confident in working independently, and interested in guiding junior colleagues as you grow your own skills, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Lead the day-to-day delivery of safe, effective, and emotionally intelligent care across all hubs. Maintain professional nursing accountability, oversee clinical governance, and drive quality improvement initiatives. Manage, mentor, and develop Area Care Team Leaders, Seniors, and care staff. Support staff training, CPD, and student placements. Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and oversee risk management. Collaborate with the CEO and board on service evaluation, financial planning, and strategic growth. Represent Lagans Foundation externally, engaging with commissioners, ICBs, NHS, and voluntary sector partners. Promote family-centered care and ensure children and families voices influence service design.

About us

This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care to children and young people with complex health needs in their homes and community settings. You will assess and monitor childrens conditions, respond to changes, and support families to feel safe, informed and confident in the care provided.

You will work closely with our Area Care Team Leaders and wider care team, contributing to clinical oversight and ensuring care plans and risk assessments remain up to date. The role includes guiding and supporting carers, apprentices and student nurses, helping build their confidence and competence in practice.

You will promote safe, person-centred care at all times, follow safeguarding procedures, and communicate clearly with families and external professionals. The role also involves participating in supervisions, maintaining high clinical standards, and taking part in ongoing professional development.

This is a community-based role that requires independence, strong communication, and a compassionate approach to supporting children and families with complex needs.
