Registered Nurse - Clinical Care Coordinator

Job summary

We are looking for a passionate and proactive Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to young people with complex needs within our specialist college and residential settings. The successful candidate will provide strong clinical leadership across the service, supporting safe, effective practice and working collaboratively with Education, Care and Therapy teams to promote student wellbeing and independence.

They will work closely with the Clinical Team, Head of Care and Registered Manager to ensure regulatory compliance, oversee assessment and care planning, and contribute to continuous quality improvement across the college.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to Nursing Associates and Nursing Assistants.

Lead the development, implementation and review of holistic, person-centred care plans.

Oversee medication management systems and delegated health tasks in line with CQC and legal requirements.

Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, EHCP processes and pre-entry assessments.

Support training, competency assessment and ongoing professional development across the workforce.

Requirements:-

* Registered Nurse on the NMC register

* Recognised Nursing qualification

* Recent experience of working with individuals with complex health needs within a health, education or care setting

* Experience of medication administration and delegated clinical tasks

* Knowledge of safeguarding, infection prevention and control, and CQC regulatory standards

* Experience of supervising, mentoring or supporting junior staff

* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Job responsibilities

Provide clinical nursing leadership, guidance and support across the college workforce, ensuring professional knowledge and skills remain current and evidence-based.

Supervise, mentor and develop junior staff, ensuring appropriate oversight, safe practice and professional development.

Ensure clinical practice aligns with the college Quality Improvement Plan and service objectives.

Oversee assessment and care delivery for students with complex needs, ensuring appropriate staff allocation.

Respond to incidents, lead investigations and implement learning to improve practice.

Participate in on-call clinical escalation and multidisciplinary meetings as required.
