Main duties of the job
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Short Breaks Manager to help lead this new service. You will:
Support the management of a team of Care Support Workers, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centered care.
Supervise and develop staff through appraisals, observations, inductions, and training.
Write and review person-centered care plans and risk assessments.
Assist with recruitment, staff retention, and the assessment of prospective guests.
Administer and manage medication and deliver training in areas such as moving and handling.
Play a key role in quality assurance through audits and action plans, ensuring compliance with CQC and relevant legislation.
Deputise for Care Managers when required and participate in the on-call rota.
Liaise with the Clinical team to meet complex care needs and uphold safeguarding and health & safety standards.

team culture focused on empowering both staff and students to thrive.
You must hold a minimum of a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or being willing to work towards this within 18 months of employment, you must also have strong previous experience of working within the care sector and providing personal care.Experience in working with young adults or individuals with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs would also be helpful.
This role requires offers a unique 3 - week rolling rota, with a combination of earlies, lates and long days and including weekend working with every third weekend off. You will work across different care settings at Henshaws College to ensure an effective and safe service.
