Job summary

Henshaws College are looking for a highly motivated and dynamicLead Nursewith a broad range of nursing knowledge and experience to lead the clinical team in delivering high quality research based clinical training and education packages to meet the care needs of students with a wide range of clinical needs.

This is a newly developed role with a large focus on quality and maintaining safe practice.

This role will allow you to access specialist training and supervision to ensure we are providing the most current research based practice to meet students holistic and sometimes complex health needs.

Our students are young adults aged 16-25 with a range of learning disabilities. Combining day and residential students along with respite stays requires excellent planning and organizational skills and can present daily challenges making for an exciting role.

Main duties of the job

  • Assessing the clinical health needs of students and identify any gaps in training provision for staff required to safely care for the student

  • Lead in the development of education and training packages for care staff to undertake delegated health tasks. This includes assessing competency of staff selected to work with students and developing an action plan when someone has not been assessed as competent

  • Act as a source of clinical expertise to other team members demonstrating clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and analysis to ensure high-quality service delivery.

  • Provide daily support to the Nursing Associate and Nursing assistants organising workloads and providing line management to members of the team

To compose and deliver training packages to health care and education staff in a variety of settings on a range of clinical / health care subjects with support from the wider clinical team.

To line manage the Nurse Associate and/or the Nursing assistants, providing day to day support and organising the workload to ensure an effective service
