As a Clinical Receptionist you will work as part of a team under the
supervision of qualified nurses and doctors and experienced Clinical
Receptionists to provide a high standard and quality of health care to
patientsin accordance withBADGER standards and clinical
procedures.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of the role will be: -
To work effectively as part of the Badger team to support high quality, safe and timely care for patients under the instruction/ guidance of Badger cliniciansTo work in accordance with Badgers policies and proceduresTo book patients in using the Adastra computer database, and liaise with clinicians to support triage of walk-in patients when required and within the required timeframesTo undertake initial patient assessments to support the registered healthcare professionals clinical assessment and management, in line with Badgers policies and procedures. Examples include
- Blood Pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation readings and recordings
- Blood glucose testing
- Urinalysis
To ensure accurate, timely and effective two-way communication and action when receiving information/ advice/ guidance from Badger cliniciansTo ensure effective communication of concerns about possible serious illness or deterioration to secure timely clinician review of the patient
To produce accurate, timely and legible records on the Electronic Patient Record system.
To maintain confidentiality at all times
To be up to date with all statutory and mandatory training requirements, and role-based training requirements
To participate in/ support audits as appropriate

Today Badger has opted-in GP members in 60+ practices and provides 24/7 message handling, urgent primary care and GP out of hours service to a patient base of 1.3 million. We run the Urgent Treatment Services at Solihull and Erdington Stockland Green, with face to face and 24/7 remote clinical assessment services operating from Bourne Road in Aston. Our head offices are at Glover Street, near the city centre. Badger was recognised with an Outstanding rating following our Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in March 2024.
