Rota Team Manager

Job summary

In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for managing the production, monitoring and co-ordination of Badger clinical and support staff rotas. You will ensure that all operational rotas are produced on time and appropriate staffing levels are maintained ensuring the accuracy of information. You will be supported and be responsible for the line management of Rota Team Administrators.

You will be responsible for building excellent working relationships with all staff members, team leaders, management and senior management to establish and deliver robust rotas with appropriate contingency plans in place. You will need to work collaboratively with other business functions.

You will work closely with the Workforce Department to report and manage sickness absence, annual leave, study leave, shift swaps and temporary staffing, bringing urgent matters to the attention of the appropriate Directors. There will be a requirement as and when required to work Weekends.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive

Line Management of Rota Team members.

This post will involve extensive liaison with members of the senior management team and other departments within Badger Group.

Badger was established in 1996 by local doctors who joined together to initially provide an improved out-of-hours service for their patients. Today Badger has opted-in GP members in 60+ practices and provides 24/7 message handling, urgent primary care and GP out of hours service to a patient base of 1.3 million. We run the Urgent Treatment Services at Solihull and Erdington Stockland Green, with face to face and 24/7 remote clinical assessment services operating from Bourne Road in Aston. Our head offices are at Glover Street, near the city centre. Badger was recognised with an Outstanding rating following our Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in March 2024.

  • Circa 2 years experience of working with Rota master software.
  • Evidence of successfully leading a team to ensure business needs are met.
  • Demonstrable experience of staff management and delegation to include staff development, performance management and employee relations.
  • Experience of training others
  • Demonstrate experience of rota management Evidence of experience of working to tight deadlines.

Desirable

  • Creation and implementation of process and procedures
  • Mentoring
  • Previous experience of electronic rostering system

Qualifications

Essential

  • At least A-Level standard with IT

Desirable

  • Training or mentoring qualification Level 4 or equivalent experience in Leadership / Management
