Pay: £11.50 to £13.84 per hour (dependent on shift pattern)

Clinical Receptionists carry out clinical observations, under the supervision of qualified nurses and doctors, and provide a high standard and quality of health care to patients. Clinical Receptionists are required to work in accordance with Badger policies and clinical procedures.

This role suits caring people with professional and courteous communication and interpersonal skills. You will be expected to have a good general education and a qualification in Health and Social Care would be an advantage, however BADGER does provide in-house training. An understanding of the Data Protection Act and Confidentiality is essential.

You must be able to commit daytime, evening and weekend working.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Receptionist you will work as part of a team under the supervision of qualified nurses and doctors and experienced Clinical Receptionists to provide a high standard and quality of health care to patients in accordance with BADGER standards and clinical procedures.

Job responsibilities

The main purpose of the role will be:-

To provide a high standard and quality of health care to patients and to work in accordance with BADGER standards and clinical procedures.

To provide support, health care and advice to the patients and cover under the instruction of BADGER clinicians.

To carry out the following clinical procedures in line with BADGER clinicians such as (this list is not exhaustive):-

Pulse Monitoring

Blood Pressure monitoring

Blood glucose testing

Temperature monitoring

Oxygen Saturation monitoring

To report any changes in the condition and/or circumstances of patients to the BADGER clinicians.

To book patients in using the Adastra computer database and act as a receptionist as and when required.

To ensure accurate, timely and effective communication when receiving and reporting back information about patients to the BADGER clinicians.

To maintain accurate, timely and legible records and statistical returns using the Adastra database.

To maintain confidentiality at all times.

To keep up to date with all current issues and their relevance to their practice

To participate in audits as appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum GCSE Maths and English grade A-C or equivalent
  • Qualification or relevant experience in Health & Social Care

Desirable

  • First Aid and manual handling.

Experience

  • Experience of dealing with members of the public with the ability to relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with people and relatives within a care setting.
