Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance

Aftercare Service Manager

The closing date is 17 August 2025

Job summary

In November 2020, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) appointed its first Patient and Family Liaison Officer, acknowledging the importance of the recovery journey beyond the brief, often traumatic, contact with our clinical teams. The core objective has remained: to support patients and families with dignity, empathy, and continuity.

Over the past 3 years, 1,400 documented interactions have been recorded in our patient management records database, HEMSBase. Feedback from these interactions consistently highlights the service's transformative role in patient and family healing.

Main duties of the job

We are at a unique moment, with the opportunity to redesign the service from the ground. This growth will not only increase patient/family reach but will enhance integration with hospitals and create an environment of holistic care.

The Aftercare Service supports LNAA patients, their families and friends, and others involved in the event (service users).

The Aftercare Service Manager will coordinate this support in the time that follows the initial phase of acute injury, including closure and signposting to support functions. You will provide compassionate, experienced support, direction and guidance.

You will help deploy a strategy for our Aftercare Service as the Charity enters into our next five-year strategy and embarks on service expansion.

About us

The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) provides lifesaving critical care to the communities of Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire, funded by public donations. If somebody is involved in a serious incident or suddenly taken ill, speed and time are of the essence. Giving a patient the best chance of survival, our Air Ambulance crew effectively take the A&E department to the scene of the emergency.
