Job summary

Safeguarding Social Worker 37.5 hours per week (with on call) Salary £33,000- up to £40,000 Depending upon experience           With the growth of David Lewis services an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the safeguarding social work team. The successful applicant will work under the direction and supervision from the Safeguarding Manager. You will positively contribute to the safe care of the people we support across the Charity.

Main duties of the job

Undertake and guide on a range of safeguarding processes including referrals to and liaison with the local authority, the people we support, their families and commissioners. Undertaking provider led enquiries under S42 into concerns raised for the people we support. Implementing and delivering a range of safeguarding practices including audit and wellbeing case reviews. Support the process for raising and triage of all concerns in relation to the people we support. Act as DSL Designated Safeguarding Lead in our School and College. Producing written reports and summaries of work as required. Contributing to MDT meetings and carrying out observations as required. Delivery of safeguarding MCA and DoLS training as required. Support the DoLS process where the people we support are being deprived of their liberty Complete assessments and advice on the MCA 2005, including attending and leading on best interest decisions Promoting and encouraging the co-production of what we offer across the charity Deputising in the absence of the Safeguarding Manager The successful applicant will hold a degree level qualification in Social Work (or equivalent) and ideally have experience working with children and families ideally in education or have practiced as a qualified DSL in Schools. They will also have experience of working in the field of learning disabilities - desirable within residential care or education settings.  They will have a positive can-do attitude and be able to build constructive working relationships with stakeholders cross David Lewis services.
