We are looking for a General
Practice Assistant (GPA) to join the team at Windermere Health Centre.
Are you passionate about
supporting patient care and helping a busy GP team run smoothly? We are looking
for someone who can take on a mix of administrative and clinical tasks,
freeing up our clinicians to focus on the patient.
As a GPA, youll work across
both clinical and administrative departments, providing flexible support and
ensuring the practice operates efficiently.
This is a part-time role of 20 hours per week, with a flexible working pattern that can be discussed.

Main duties of the job
A GP Assistant will support the GP(s) smooth running of clinics by performing the more routine administration/clinical tasks on behalf of the GP, freeing up their time to focus on the patient.

Whilst clinical duties will relate to previous experience, training and capability, the following non-exhaustive list outlines some of the anticipated duties/tasks
Arranging appointments, referrals, tests and follow-up appointments for patients.
- Completing simple clinical observations/investigations as directed locally, such as dipstick urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs, phlebotomy, injection.
- Preparing patients prior to going in to see the GP or Nurse, taking a brief history and basic readings in readiness for the GP/Nurse/Long Term Conditions Review. Appointment.
- Work alongside wider practice and PCN teams who support GP administration to ensure a joined-up approach and communication.
- Supporting the GP with immunisations/wound care.
- To support the reception/medical secretarial teams when required.
