Job summary
We are looking for a Medical Secretary to join The Upper Eden Medical Practice.
The role will involve providing general secretarial support to the Practice Manager, Doctors and Health Professionals involving word processing and audio typing skills with general clerical work. Referrals using the E-referral system and dealing with patient queries relating to referrals and liaising with Hospital departments.
This is a permanent position and is 25.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of
secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative
support to the multidisciplinary team.
Duties can include, but are not limited to, the
processing of information, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and
external agencies, in accordance with current policies. Processing patient
referrals using the electronic referral service (ERS).

- Assisting GP with Dermatascope use where needed

- Using ICE/Open-Net ICE (NCL)/Indigo to access patient results where needed for GPs/Nurses
- Keeping waiting-list board up to date
- Administration of Death notifications and liaising with Medical Examiners Office and local Undertakers.

- RSA II or equivalent in typing or word processing
