Job summary
Prospect Hospice is an independent hospice supporting a community of 300,000
people in Swindon, Marlborough and North Wiltshire, and the villages of
Lechlade and Fairford in Gloucestershire. It is the only dedicated provider of
specialist end of life care services within its locality. The Hospices
multi-professionals teams support people in the community, in care homes, at
the Great Western Hospital and at the Hospice in Wroughton. Care is also
extended to the families and friends of patients.
Physiotherapist (two year fixed-term contract)
We are looking for a
Physiotherapist to join our Therapy Services team on a two year fixed-term
contract, delivering a high quality physiotherapy service and support for
in-patients and within the local community.
At Prospect Hospice we

Hours: 18.75 per week (3 days per week Monday to Friday).

Main duties of the job
What is the role?
The physiotherapist
will autonomously manage a complex patient caseload with specialist
palliative care needs, demonstrating high level clinical reasoning and
communication skills.
You will be responsible
for planning, implementing and evaluating therapy assessments, with
responsibility for implementing a
range of effective and efficient treatment programmes for individuals and
groups. You will identify and undertake physiotherapeutic interventions utilising
various treatment modalities, e.g. rehabilitation, fatigue management, anxiety
management, and pain management. As such you will be required to take an active
role in motivating patients to engage in their treatment programme, working
towards agreed goals.
This post
requires an enthusiastic, confident and innovative; qualified Physiotherapist.
A drive and passion for continuous professional development, and the ability to
travel between the hospice and patients homes in the community is required. The
successful candidate will possess excellent communication, organisational and
prioritisation skills and able to provide outstanding patient-centred holistic
care.
You will be working within a team that will support you to develop both
professionally and personally, through ongoing professional development,
appraisal and ongoing support.
