Job summary
We are seeking 10 highly motivated and enthusiastic practitioners to work and train within our award-winning Voluntary Sector services based in Croydon and Merton. The training posts will equip the post-holders to provide interventions for children, young people or families using evidence-based interventions consistent with the training. The post holders will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages and you will be committed to equality, diversity, inclusion and anti-racist practice. The training forms part of the service transformation initiative delivered by NHS England as part of the national Children and Young Peoples Mental Health (CYP-MH) programme.
This is a training position with the post holders undertaking training at Kings College London as well as working in our face to face frontline Mental Health Support Teams in schools and/or community services. You will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holders will use their newly developed skills to support children, young people and parent/carers who are referred into the MHST or community services and you will receive clinical supervision to support your professional development.

Main duties of the job
This is a fixed term post with this training year funded by the NHS. After successful completion of the course the fixed term training contract will end however we will seek recurrent funding. Applicants will be encouraged to stay within their existing service providers or apply for vacant posts within our services and will be provided support and advice in job applications.
This full-time role will be best suited for applicants who are able to balance a busy work and study schedule, with frequent travel across different sites for university and work. You will be an employee at CDI or OTR but also enrolled on a Postgraduate Diploma course. As this is a Postgraduate level training, you will be required to study and perform at academic level. Applicants must be prepared to work towards their studies outside of protected study time (such as on weekends and after work). Protected study time or teaching days are typically 2 days a week during term (with possibility of extra university days near the start) and will be a mixture of in person and online sessions. Applicants must be willing to travel into London to attend their lectures.
