Job summary

Our service is expanding so we are looking for motivated, caring and enthusiastic people to join our team of Rainbow Support Workers (Health Care Assistants). No experience required as we are happy to train and support you as you start your career in care.

We have part time shift patterns available from 16 hours per week to 30 hours per week and full time hours available. Pay currently starts at £10.95 per hour for our Day Opportunities service and goes up to £13 per hour for Home Care at the weekends.

Main duties of the job

As part of our care team, you will be responsible for delivering our Home Care and Support services in the local community as well as supporting our Day Opportunities service at our Care Hubs based at Penley Rainbow Centre, Marchwiel Village Hall or Chirk Parish Hall.

Both services support people to maintain their independence, reduce loneliness and isolation and increase positive health.

About us

The Rainbow Foundation is an award-winning charity working across South Wrexham, we provide outstanding services which support the health and wellbeing of our communities.

Please note that shifts are worked on a 2-week rotation that covers a service running from 7am - 10pm, 7 days a week. Therefore, the role will include some weekend hours every other weekend. You will also need a full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle. There are NO split shifts, and you are paid for all hours worked + milage.

  • Support in making and serving drinks and snacks, serving lunch meals, and clearing up.
  • Offer 1-1 support and care in line with care plans and risk assessments.
  • To assist clients, as needed, eating, toileting, mobilising, and getting into and out of transport. Some clients access a weekly bathing service and day centre staff are required to meet this personal care need.
  • To help in meeting the personal care and support needs of clients in a way that respects dignity and promotes independence both in the centre and on outings.
  • Complete basic daily records within client files and on our IT system
  • Good understanding of the needs of older people
  • Awareness and understanding of Dementia/cognitive impairments.
