Mastercall Healthcare is excited to offer a new opportunity for a Learning & Development Manager. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and innovative person. The individual will be a key member of the People & OD Leadership Team, supporting the People team and wider business in contributing to the identification, development, and implementation of future talent needs. Ensuring that plans are in place and the execution of them enables the business to meet its strategic and commercial objectives.

This fantastic role is based at Mastercall Healthcare in Hazel Grove, Stockport, the role is flexible working 30 37.5 hours per week. The salary is £34 - £38K full time (pro rata) depending on experience.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to their own CPD and development and have a passion for learning and development. They should inspire people to want to expand their professional and educational horizons and be able to provide advice, guidance, support, and direction.

Interviews will be held Thursday 29th February & Friday 1st March 2024.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have the ability to create a culture of learning at all levels gaining co-operation and commitment throughout the organisation.

Analysing and identifying the gap between the current workforce skills and future development needs. Leading, developing, implementing, and maintaining effective and efficient learning and knowledge management policies, systems, and processes. Ensuring the effective onboarding of new starters and ongoing induction plans. Managing the production, monitoring and co-ordination and reporting of clinical and support staff professional development and mandatory training, including health and safety. Establishing and promoting the Mastercall Academy with the clinical and non-clinical teams internally and externally across the health and social care network.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Support the design, implementation and ongoing delivery of an efficient induction and onboarding process suitable for diverse areas of business activity.

Developing the internal and external Mastercall Academy programmes and offerings to support the delivery of the people strategy within the business plan.

Review existing and future materials for improvements or adaptations that could be made regarding diversity, equality and inclusion training.

Review existing learning platforms and research the market for IT based learning platforms capable of migrating existing and future training requirements, to include record keeping and scheduling capabilities.

Consider and recommend a broad range of delivery methods such as e-learning, peer to peer documented assessment, Train the Trainer, external providers etc.

Work with department leads and clinical experts on identifying development frameworks and pathways for staff to motivate and promote career development within the company and industry.

Working with the senior management team to improve compliance reporting and identify any business compliance issues related to training and development.

Assist with the development a budgetary process to allow the business to measure the spend on training and development against targets and ambitions.

Developing and coordinating leadership, management, and coaching programmes.

Manging an extended L&D team, leading team meetings that promote a positive, inclusive coaching culture and high performance.

Research and keep abreast of funding and training providers and solutions outside of the business that can fulfil training objectives, including Traineeships, the Apprenticeship Levy, any other available funding, and bursary options.

Ensuring easily accessible records and processes for all learning and development activities, ensuring effective evaluation of programmes and all training records are efficiently stored in line with GDPR.

Contributing to the overall development offer by helping to identify learning and development needs within the organisation through analysis and performance management feedback.

Liaising with the relevant teams, managers, and delegates to ensure the smooth-running of training and that all colleagues are booked and prepared within agreed timeframes.

Ensuring that colleagues adhere to training procedure, developing, and advising colleagues on training policy where relevant.

Coordinating regular training reviews to ensure that training is in line with Quality Assurance processes and in line with CQC and any other relevant regulatory requirements.

Ensuring training resources are in place including arranging hospitality for colleagues if required, room layout and set up and equipment for colleagues attending workshops, printing, and distributing relevant materials.

Ensuring effective booking processes for colleagues/delegates on to events registers, networking opportunities and liaising with training providers to ensure the smooth running of our organisational learning and development.

Developing and implementing an annual essential training calendar and ensuring full completion within agreed upon timescales, while engaging with colleagues to manage this.
