Job summary
We are looking for a new Chair who will be leading and working with Healthwatch Haringey Advisory Board Members in the planning and direction of Healthwatch Haringey.
Healthwatch Haringey is the independent peoples champion for health and social care in the London Borough of Haringey, and part of the wider national Healthwatch network. Healthwatch Haringey was set up as part of the Health and Social Care Act 2012, which placed a requirement on every Local Authority in England to have an independent Healthwatch.
We actively seek out the views of the public and patients on all matters relating to health and social care in Haringey. We use this evidence to influence the way health and social care services are designed, delivered, and improved.
Main duties of the job
Duties of the ChairIt is anticipated the duties of the Chair will take four days per month. This is a voluntary position with reasonable out-of-pocket expenses covered.
The Chair will:
- Promote good governance, leadership, involvement, and accountability.
- Manage Board Meetings and other public engagement events where appropriate.
- Represent and promote the work of Healthwatch Haringey.
While you might not have a background in health or social care, we are looking for someone who has the transferrable skills to play a leading part in the future of Healthwatch Haringey.
EligibilityWe welcome applications from anyone who lives, works or is registered with a GP in Haringey or North Central London ICS area. We absolutely welcome and encourage applications from ALL sections of the community including those from minority ethnic communities, disabled people, every gender, every age group (over 18), and all socio-economic groups. You would be representing all Haringey residents, and it is essential we make sure every voice is heard.
