Apprentice Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) Split Post Advert

Salary - Band 3

Hours - minimum 30 hours/week

2 years Fixed term contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, patient focused individual with excellent communication skills to join our supportive and friendly Medicines Support Team on an apprenticeship programme.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work alongside pharmacy, nursing and other health care professionals to support and deliver effective medicines optimisation within Localas intermediate care settings and out in the community. The successful candidate will be supported to gain the skills and knowledge required to register as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). They will benefit from the full support of an Educational Supervisor in each workplace and within the educational setting.

This is a split post training programme which will expose candidates to both community services and the NHS hospital environment.

The successful candidate will be providing care to patients within our bed bases and their own homes at Locala and completing rotations at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust sowill need a full driving license and access to a vehicle to travel between sites.

In view of this being a rotational post the ability to work efficiently and to be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with a range of colleagues and integrate into multiple teams is essential.

The trainee will need to work a minimum of 30 hours a week due to apprenticeship commitments.

This is a fixed-term contract for the duration of the training programme and the candidate will be expected to commit to completing this in this timeframe. Although every effort will be made to provide a substantive position at the end of the training period, this cannot be guaranteed.
