Highly Specialist Children's Speech and Language Therapist
Band 7- £43,742 - £50,056 pro rata
Hours of work 0.6 WTE / 22.5 hours (flexible working opportunities available)
Location- North Kirklees (covering Dewsbury, Batley and Spenborough)

Main duties of the job
We are delighted to share this excellent opportunity for a permanent Band 7 Speech & Language Therapist post in our friendly and innovative Speech and Language Therapy team.
The role will include:
- Providing a high-quality service (including assessment, and advice/support) for children and young people with significant speech, language and communication needs.
- Playing a key role in the Youth Justice Service completing assessments and writing specific / distinct pre-sentencing court reports.
- Providing expert advice, support and training to colleagues, carers and other professionals relating to clinical area.
- Supporting the team leaders in reviewing and developing the Speech and Language Therapy services for children and young people within the Youth Justice Service (in Kirklees).
The post holder needs to have the relevant degree in Speech and Language Therapy and have experience working with children with complex communication difficulties and preferably working within a multi-disciplinary role.Experienceworking within the Youth Justice Service is not compulsory.
We are a friendly, dynamic and hugely supportive Speech and Language Therapy team. The department offers formal mentoring, peer support, preceptorship and a Personal Development Review system which ensures that training and learning needs can be identified and met appropriately.
