We currently have an excellent opportunity for a forward thinking, proactive and highly motivated nurse to join the Infection Prevention and Control Team in Locala.

We are a small but dynamic team embracing the current challenges of infection prevention and control.

Main duties of the job

Our drive to reduce infection rates and we require an innovative individual with excellent communication skills and an interest in infection prevention and control. We are seeking a team player that can contribute and develop skills in a specialist role. With the current focus on Infection Prevention and Control this role offers the opportunity to develop skills around leadership, having the opportunity of working with staff at all levels.

You will carry out outbreak visits, reviewing infection prevention and control precautions in place, review cross-infection risks and advising colleagues about appropriate infection prevention and control precautions. Communicating with a wide variety of colleagues plays a significant part of this role, along with providing informal / formal training.

You will undertake infection prevention and control audits and provide verbal and written feedback.

The successful candidate will need to hold first level registration as a registered general nurse and be able to demonstrate continuing professional development.

Candidates will have a keen interest in infection prevention and control, and experience of improving infection prevention and control in clinical settings. It is important to have the ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal, with Locala and a wide variety of providers, service users, LA colleagues, CCG colleagues, PH colleagues and UKHSA colleagues.
