We are looking for an enthusiastic Extended Scope Physiotherapist to join our MSK team on a 12 months fixed term contract.
You will be joining a team which consists of Specialist Doctors and Extended Scope Physiotherapists alongside a dedicated admin team.You will be responsible for your own clinical caseload of patients with complex musculoskeletal pathology that traditionally would have been referred to secondary care services.
Main duties of the job
Utilising advanced assessment and clinical reasoning skills you will provide patients with an explanation of their condition, its prognosis and present them with the options for its management. You will be responsible for referring for patients for diagnostic tests and for surgical opinions to maximise conversion to surgery.
The service also delivers joint and soft tissue injections and point of care ultrasound imaging. We actively support CPD and appropriate clinical supervision will be given to enable you to acquire new skills as part of the role. You will also act as an expert resource for GPs, advanced nurse practitioners and Physiotherapists and actively be involved in pathway design and clinical audit.
You should be a confident MSK practitioner and communicator who thrives from engaging with a variety of colleagues both internally and externally and be passionate about developing your clinical skills to become the very best clinician you can become.
You should be flexible to the changing fast-paced nature of working in primary care and be naturally innovative, appreciate the role digital plays in healthcare services, and enjoy looking for ways to improve services to ensure the service continues to deliver evidence-based practice.
