Children's Community Staff Nurse
Job type:Fixed term 10-month contract to run from Mid-October 2023 to Mid-August 2024 to cover maternity leave
Hours: 30 hours per week (job share or part time hours may be considered)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Nurse with relevant experience of working with children with complex needs ideally in a community setting either as a student or registered practitioner to join our community team to cover maternity leave. The team work closely together to provide a high quality, responsive and dynamic service for children and young people aged 0 19 in the community setting across North Kirklees.
Main duties of the job
We are an Integrated Childrens Nursing Team consisting of childrens nurses and health care assistants. We have a busy and culturally diverse caseload of children and young people with acute and chronic health needs, including complex care and palliative care. We also provide the nursing support to one of the special school provisions in our area. We have links with local hospitals, hospices and the community multidisciplinary health services as well as education and social care.
The successful candidate must be child and family focused with good communication skills. The children we work with, and their families are central to the work we do. You will be able to work well in a team but also autonomously and would be supported by the other team members.
As a team we are committed to delivering high quality care and we are looking to recruit a member of staff that can demonstrate the enthusiasm to help us deliver our service.
Access to a vehicle and possession of a full driving license is essential along with insurance that covers you for business use.
This would be a great opportunity for someone wanting to gain experience of working in a community setting and / or with children and young people with complex needs.
