Job summary

They are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic salaried GP to become part of their friendly dedicated practice team located across Thornaby and Ingleby Barwick. The ideal candidate would deliver 6-8 sessions a week.
Main duties of the job
Conduct patient consultations (face-to-face, telephone, video, or online).
Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, manage chronic illnesses like diabetes, asthma, and hypertension.
Prescribe medications and manage repeat prescriptions.
Refer patients to hospital specialists or other services, perform home visits for housebound or care home patients (if part of role).
Review test results, hospital letters, and discharge summaries, write referrals, fit notes, and medical reports.
Participate in duty doctor/on-call rota for same-day urgent care.
work within a multidisciplinary team (nurses, pharmacists, HCAs, etc.), and supervise junior staff or students (if required).

Our team includes 7 GP Partners, 6 Salaried GPs, an Advanced Practitioner, a Pharmacy Technician, Practice Nurses, 2 GP Assistants, and a large, experienced administrative and reception team. We pride ourselves on being a positive and collaborative practice where staff wellbeing and patient care go hand in hand.

- MRCGP or equivalent

- Ability to consult effectively and sensitively with patients
- Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Competent IT skills and familiarity with electronic patient records
