Job summary

We are excited to be advertising for a Dispenser / Administrator to work 16 hours a week with our Practice Team. This rewarding role allows you to have a real impact on the lives of our patients and community.

Main duties of the job

Perform the duties of a Dispenser combined with those of an Administrator and work with the Practice Team to provide a high level of service and care to patients at all times

Job responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with their prescriptions
  • Take repeat prescription requests, prepare and process them via the computer
  • Prepare, check, and dispense prescriptions
  • Order / receive and enter drugs into the computer
  • Prepare and send monthly prescriptions to Pricing Authority
  • Take a weekly balance of the vaccines in the fridge
  • Collect and record prescription fees
  • Maintain Controlled Drug Records
  • Liaise with Medical Reps and update bonus schemes
  • Participate in data collection, e.g. vaccine report and expiry stock report
  • Acquire a working knowledge of computers in the practice
  • Check out-of-date drugs in Dispensary stock
  • Order Dispensary stock and stationery
  • Answer telephone, make appointments and record details for requests for home visits when necessary
  • Operate the appointment system
  • Take and record details of messages ensuring that all messages reach the relevant personnel
  • Extract clinical data from correspondence and READ code in computer records
  • Scan and attach clinical correspondence to patients computer records
  • Process electronic discharge summaries / clinic letters / patient contact forms etc.
  • Process e-consult and AccurRx contacts and photographs
  • Attend relevant training sessions and meetings when required
